About this Event
Welcome to Spoken Word Open Mic at The Gladstone! Join us for an evening of talented individuals, whether you come to perform or simply enjoy the creativity of others. The space is open to writers and performers of all abilities and experience, so if you're a seasoned performer or trying it out for the first time, this is the perfect opportunity to share your words. The night provides a welcoming atmosphere for poets, storytellers, and anyone who wants to come and listen.
Hosted by Ellie Sanders, a Brighton-based writer who is still finding her feet in the performing world, so understands the nerves of getting on stage! More information on the events she hosts can be found @smudgedinkpoetry on Instagram.
Open Mic slots will be allocated as first come, first serve at the door: there are limited spaces available and we ask that you perform 1-2 longer poems or 2-3 shorter poems (slots should be about 5 minutes). All tickets are just £2 - to guarantee a seat buy one here!
The evening is a friendly, inclusive, safe space for those reading and listening: anyone who does not abide by these values won't be welcome. See you on Sunday 12th May!
