BOBBY DARIN was a versatile American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and actor in film and television. He excelled in a range of music genres including Jazz, Pop, Rock 'n' Roll, Folk, Swing, and Country. Darin began his show business career as a songwriter for Connie Francis and shot to global fame in 1958 with his first million-seller, "Splish Splash." He passed away in 1973 at the age of 37 following a heart operation.Darin was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1999. The Recording Academy awarded him a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2010 Grammy Awards. It's often said that had he lived, he might have become more famous than Frank Sinatra due to his incredible talent.
