New this year! We are developing a special tour for those with mobility issues and another with an American Sign Language interpreter. Details coming and email if you're intersted: [email protected]
TOURS & VISITOR EXPERIENCE
ALL NEW! Guided by the spirits of the past along a new route, visitors will meet some of the notable people buried at Forest Home. In addition to professional actors from the Milwaukee and Chicago areas, professional set and mood lighting help create a unique atmosphere, making this an unforgettable adventure.
Tours step off every 15 minutes from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
We expect tours to sell out and won’t be able to put guests who are late into other tours. Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before your tour to allow plenty of time to park, walk to the entrance, check in and get to the tour start.
Professional stage lighting and AV technology throughout the tour will help ensure that all spirits are clearly seen and heard. For an enhanced experience, we ask that guests try to stick together and keep up with their guides.
Although we have installed professional lighting, pathways can be dark and uneven, so wear comfortable shoes. Tours last 60-70 minutes and cover about a mile, sometimes on pavement, sometimes on grass. Unfortunately, this event is not suited to visitors with mobility issues. Tours are recommended for ages 10 and up.
Silent City is presented by Forest Home Cemetery & Arboretum, in partnership with Caper Company.
TICKETS
Silent City runs on four dates in October on two consecutive weekends. Make sure you are registering for the correct date.
New this year: Tours starting at 8:30 pm are discounted $10 off the regular ticket price.
We hope this makes your decision to join us even easier.
Eventbrite adds transaction fees on top of the ticket price.
PARKING & ENTERING
There is no parking onsite for this event but there is plenty of street parking on the cemetery side of Lincoln Avenue.
Enter the cemetery on foot at the main entrance on Lincoln Avenue near the corner of Lincoln and Forest Home avenues. All other entrances will be closed.
Ride-share services are highly recommended. Note: Some GPS directs visitors to the Forest Home gate; make sure your driver goes to the Lincoln Avenue entrance.
To allow time for parking, checking in and walking to the tour starting location, guests should plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled tour.
CANCELLATION POLICIES & REFUNDS
No refunds will be issued for this event. This event will be held rain or shine. Forest Home reserves the right to cancel in the event of weather conditions that endanger public safety. In the unlikely event of cancellation, Forest Home will post this news as soon as it is known on our Facebook page. Forest Home will explore options for rescheduling the event if necessary.
