About this Event
Wander in sacred solitude through nature.
Attune to the more-than-human world.
Discover your inner wisdom and where you're being called in life.
Deepen your connection to your own gut-level truth.
Enter the mythic dimension of your life.
This is a practice adapted from the "day walk" taught by School of Lost Borders. It combines elements of walking meditation, rites of passage, wilderness guiding, and nature and forest therapy.
This walk is "a journey upon the face of the earth, a ceremony of preparation, a pilgrimage through the mirror of nature. In the natural world, signs and symbols of your inward journey are reflected [back to you.]"
— Steven Foster and Meredith Little, School of Lost Borders founders
You will wander the earth as a "spirit," seeking insight from the soul of the world.
This is a ceremony performed in community with others, and for the sake of returning to your life—to your own community—with greater clarity about how your gifts can serve your people.
FASTING:
The invitation is to fast for the duration of the spirit walk (until 2pm). I will offer tea when we meet in the morning but no solid food. Fasting helps us enter into the sacred space and time of the walk, but it is not an obligation.
If going without food at all goes against your doctor's medical guidelines, please bring food or snacks for yourself.
SCHEDULE:
7:00AM - Tea Ceremony. (Please be on time, if not a little early)
7:20AM - Intention-setting
7:30AM - Threshold Circle (your walk begins)
12 Noon - Return to starting point
12:30pm - Story counsel & Mirroring Work
2pm - Conclude
2:30pm - Optional lunch to break the fast
DIRECTIONS:
In Google Maps, search "Wisner Tract Park" or "Disc Golf Parking Lot, 1101 Harrison Ave." It should take you to a small gravel parking lot.
(NOTE: Searching "1101 Harrison ave" sometimes takes you to an address on the next block. From Wisner Blvd, follow Harrison Ave into the park and the gravel lot will be on your left.)
Park your car or bike there and take the path which curves to the right, walk about 100ft, past the hut on the left, and over the cement footbridge.
We'll meet under a tree on the other side of the footbridge.

- Small backpack
- Full water bottle (1-2 quarts)
- Close-toed walking shoes
- Umbrella &/or rain clothes in case of rain
- Journal & Pen (optional)
