THE ARTISTS:
Lacy Brinson, a finalist for San Antonio's Best Female Country Vocalist in both 2024 and 2023, currently lives and performs in San Antonio, Texas. Born and raised in Live Oak, Florida, and known as “Lacy Lee” to close friends and relatives, Lacy grew up camping with her family at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park, swimming and canoeing in the Suwannee River, playing guitar in picking circles at SOSMP with bluegrass players from all over the world, and attending live shows on the beautiful grounds of SOSMP. Lacy is the granddaughter of a circuit-ridin' Southern Baptist preacher, Jack M. Cross, Sr., and got her start singing and performing in church. Her original music draws from her Southern roots and tells her stories in a way that only she can tell them. For more about Lacy, visit: www.lacybrinson.com.
San Antonio singer-songwriter, Autumn Michele, brings her own original blend of country, blues, and rock n’ roll music with a Texan Native chime. She was inspired to learn guitar and write her own songs after growing up singing with her grandfather, listening to his music, and watching him play many instruments. She started busking in San Antonio, TX, in 2021 and eventually began performing her music at gigs. Lacy met Autumn at a songwriter night just north of San Antonio, and she was blown away by Autumn's talent. Autumn was featured on a midwest tour with Nicky Diamonds in 2023 and has been making a name for herself in San Antonio, both as a songwriter and a performer, ever since. Autumn Michele has a strong vision of creating and performing music until her last breath. Her first EP will be released in 2025. For more about Autumn, visit: www.autumnmichele.com.
Lacy's good friend, Kristen Foreman, is an "old soul" in today's Country Music. Her voice has been compared to the likes of Reba, Alison Krauss, Lee Ann Womack, Dolly Parton and many more. Foreman is one of the few Nashville artists, now based in New Braunfels, Texas, who keeps the true heart of the genre alive. Her music is the perfect blend of modern and traditional sounds. Foreman is originally from Louisiana but moved to Nashville in 2017, where she began paying her dues and sharpening her craft. After building an impressive fan base both online and in person from Tennessee to Texas and beyond, Foreman has been featured on multiple Spotify playlists, showcased as a BMI songwriter, and selected to perform at SXSW 2025 in Austin. Her latest single, "Pedal Steel Me Away," is the perfect example of what Foreman continues to offer to the music world. There is no doubt that this is only the start of her music career, and we are so excited to introduce you to her for this very special event. for more about Kristen, visit www.kristenforeman.com.
Daniel Johnson, an Iowa native, honed his songwriting skills in the Texas Hill Country with some of the best in the business before touring as a full time artist in the fall of 2022. He has quickly gained traction, building a resume playing all over the country. His rich vocals are magnetic, and his humble, down to earth, personality immediately converts his audience into his true fans. After releasing his first full length album, "Chasin' A Song," in January 2025, Daniel continues to write and play venues all around the country, doing it the old school way and making fans and new friends everywhere he goes. Lacy and Daniel met through songwriter circles in the Texas Hill Country and became instant friends. We are so happy to feature him! For more about Dan, visit www.danieljohnsoncountry.com.
Kirk Whalen is a self proclaimed “Grandpa-Music generator,” but he's not content simply recreating the sounds of a by-gone era. Growing up in south Georgia to musical grandparents, twangy country and Appalachian folk became part of his DNA at an early age, but he also fell in love with the sounds of 70’s punk, garage rock, and synthpop. “It’s all part of the stew” as Kirk would put it. Whether he’s fingerpicking guitar through a honky-tonk inspired original, playing an Appalachian ballad on banjo, or covering a David Bowie song, it all sounds old….and new simultaneously. Lacy met Kirk a couple of years ago when she was passing through her old stomping grounds in Jacksonville Beach. Kirk was one of four songwriters being showcased at a local spot, and for obvious reasons, Lacy has been a big fan of his ever since. We're so excited to have him join us for this special show. For more about Kirk, visit www.kirkwalenmusic.com.
Jonathan Lucas and Lacy have been friends for almost twenty years. Jonathan grew up in a musical family in South Carolina and picked up the guitar as a child. Jonathan’s grandfather hosted an AM Radio show in rural SC, and together with Jonathan’s great uncle, the two often performed on air. They crooned cowboy songs by classic country artists like Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, and Hank Williams. Jonathan’s father and uncle also played guitar, and the family gatherings always included picking circles. When Jonathan was young, his dad joined a bluegrass band called Tiller’s Ferry. They had an old Chevy Conversion Van with an airbrushed desert scene with tumbleweeds and cactus on the side, and the family would drive it to bluegrass festivals. Jonathan played in heavy rock bands in high school, but he didn’t play many live shows until law school, which is where he and Lacy became friends. Jonathan has mellowed in his “older age,” feeling drawn back to the bluegrass he grew up loving. Jonathan settled in Jacksonville, Florida, with his wife and their children, where he practices law. Jonathan gave Lacy her first paid gig in 2010 in Jacksonville Beach, encouraging her to make a set list, buy reliable equipment, and share her music. The opportunity Jonathan gave Lacy propelled her into a side hustle as a working musician. We are so honored to have Jonathan join Lacy on stage for this full circle moment.
