Spiral Of Silence started as a cold wave band in the early 90s (think Bauhaus, Joy Division and Siglo**) and grew into an influential part of the genre. They are often referred to as 'The Belgian Joy
Division' and played shows with artists like Gary Numan, Chameleons, DAF, Echo & The Bunnymen,
and Front 242 - across Europe.
Their albums - ‘LEAP’ (1998) and ‘dEcAdEnT’ (2002) - became post-punk classic albums and got the
band to play international venues throughout the late 90s and early 2000s: main stage of Gottik
Treffen (Germany), a sold out Kuipke in Ghent and several shows at the legendary Vooruit .
The Ian Curtisian voice of singer Tom Van Troyen got the band’s version of Dead Souls on a New
Order/Joy Division tribute album (Retroforward Records, USA).
