Spike’s School aims to educate and improve handlers and their K9 communication through top-notch training from exceptional and recognized trainers nationwide. Quality training results in increased effectiveness in the workplace and safer handling, protecting everyone involved. Thanks to our generous donors, we can sponsor approved applicants to help relieve the burden of training costs.We will partner with Phillipi "Mountain" Sanz and Matt Williams to offer a five day K9 Tracking School for law enforcement and SAR K9 handlers. Handlers attending this course will learn the foundational skills to effectively track suspects and missing persons in all terrains and environments, even tracking at night. Students attending this course will be prepared with the knowledge and training to read their dog's body language and continue building a more confident K9 to track humans.

This course is limited to 20 working spot.
Prerequisites:
1. The handler and K9 must be active and certified members of a department's K9 unit or SAR organization.
2. The dog must be current on core vaccinations per AAHA Core Vaccines: Rabies and Combination vaccine (Distemper, Adenovirus-2, Parvovirus, +/- Parainfluenza).
**If a K9 attending the course has received a ballistic vest from Spike's K9 Fund's donors, the K9 must wear the vest for the course duration. If the K9 team does not bring the vest, the team will be responsible for training fees associated with the course.**
