This course will provide instruction and hands-on training for K9 first aid, intervention for common injuries, and medical emergencies. Handlers will be trained on how to treat their K9 partner for injuries or medical emergencies while in the field so they are better prepared for future deployments.The goal of our Spike’s School program is to educate through top-notch training from exceptional and recognized trainers across the country. Quality training results in increased effectiveness in the workplace and safer handling, protecting everyone involved.

Prerequisites:
1. Handler must be active with a law enforcement agency and must have an active, deployable K9. K9 must be up to date on certifications, training, and vaccinations. Handlers with deployable K9's will receive priority in this training course.
**If a K9 attending the course has received a ballistic vest from Spike's K9 Fund's donors, the K9 team must wear the vest for the duration of the course. If the K9 team does not bring the vest with them, the team will be responsible for training fees associated with the course.**
