🇩🇪Many people in the United States are familiar with Mardi Gras celebrations but few are aware that in Europe, Karneval has been celebrated for CENTURIES!
🇩🇪In medieval times, the "Feast of Fools" was celebrated as the last opportunity for merrymaking and excessive indulgence in food & drink before the solemn season of Lent began.
🇩🇪In some areas of Europe, Karneval was a satirical way of expressing frustration of an oppressive government or monarchy.
👑So, it is only fitting that we have our own Royalty that are crowned at the start of every Karneval season!
