#SPIDSWalk for Health Campaign is spearheaded by the Surrey Philippine Independence Day Society (SPIDS) since 2016 and is now back since June 2025 at Holland Park and will be held every Saturday thereafter. #SPIDSWalk Info 1-8 below:
1) ONGOING PROJECT - every Saturday at 7-9pm. Venue is Holland Park unless there is an event at the park - in such case the walk is unfortunately canceled for that week. Park by the street (98B Ave or 134 St.) not at the mall. Meet near the giant frame at the Fountain area by 7pm, starts the walk within 10 minutes waiting period.
2.) When its raining, the indoor venue will be advised earlier. On dates when there is an event at the park, #SPIDSWalk will be cancelled.
3) Every well-meaning people are welcome, regardless of race, gender, status, and age. Kids are most welcome. Four-legged loves as well, but must be on leash and supervised.
4) FREE, no prior registration needed, just come 10 mins before or ON TIME and walk with us. Wear comfortable clothing and footwear according to weather and bring your own bottled water.
5) This is not a WALKATHON, it is just a simple, for fun walk to be done on a regular basis. Each can phase their walk as they want it done, and does not have to stay the entire duration but encouraged if possible and can do it.
6) We aim to further develop camaraderie, bonding and friendship amongst members, the public, and those we serve and give joy too while caring for our health alongside (instead of talking, chatting, just sitting down in one area)
7) We encourage all interested participants to wear a TOUCH of YELLOW (Official SPIDS color - stands for vibrancy, joy, happiness, intellect, and energy) so we are able to somehow determine who intends to walk with the group.
8) *DISCLAIMER: Join at your own risk, participants are responsible for their own health condition that given day, take your medicine as needed, dress to the weather, bring water/drinks/snacks as needed.
