This intimate workshop will help you recognise the six Ayurvedic tastes and how having all six tastes (shad rasa) in your food promotes health, helps you return to balance and helps you feel content with your food. The shad rasa are made up of the elements, as all food is nature. Create spice blends and learn how the qualities of food affect digestion.
Take home spicy goodies and learn about the three components that make up healthy Ahar (diet) and the effects spices and herbs have on you.
Complimentary spiced tea will be served and explained during the session.
Spices have been used for thousands of years around the world and in Ayurveda as medicine. They can be used to increase the digestive properties of a meal as a way of removing impurities in the body and to cultivate balance. Each spice, fresh or ground, has a different quality. Your awareness of this can help you decide what you use, when and why.
Bring a large mortar and pestle, along with three small recycled jars, for your spice blends.
