Lakshmi Parthasarathy Athreya – Bharatanatyam Soloist
SPIC MACAY is proud to present Lakshmi Parthasarathy Athreya in the Harmony Series 2025. A distinguished Bharatanatyam soloist, Lakshmi is celebrated as a torchbearer of tradition with a deeply individual voice. Her performances across India and abroad have consistently earned critical acclaim for their artistic integrity, innovation, and emotional resonance.
A senior disciple of Bharatanatyam legend Guru Smt. Chitra Visweswaran for over four decades, Lakshmi has undergone rigorous training in dance, nattuvangam, theory, and stagecraft at the Chidambharam Academy of Performing Arts, Chennai. Her formal education in architecture at CEPT University, Ahmedabad, further enriches her artistic vision, enabling her to approach Bharatanatyam with a holistic and multidimensional perspective.
An ‘A’ graded artiste with Doordarshan, a Senior Fellowship awardee, and recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi’s Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar (2013), Lakshmi is widely admired for her thoughtful, well-researched, and innovative choreographic work.
