Spencer James is a guitar player, singer, and blues fanatic. He has been playing all over the Bay Area at Festivals, Wineries and Night Clubs for the past 6 years, making it a fast start for this 25 year old talent. The unusual and interesting thing about his performances are the songs. In addition to his originals and a few early Rock 'n' Roll standards, he plays a variety of blues from the early 20th century, getting to the roots of American music. Often times, he redevelops the songs with different tempos, lyrics, and feelings to fit whatever moves him. He believes it is essential to keep the music feeling fresh and inspired, always leaving room to improvise on the spot, letting him showcase his love for the music, the experience, and the feeling in the moment. Spencer can be found performing songs from Stevie Ray Vaughn, BB King, John Lee Hooker, Eric Clapton, John Mayall and Buddy Guy just to name a few.
