About this Event

On December 12, the German Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rio de Janeiro and GERMANTECH are holding a speed-networking event for 20 Brazilian start-ups and micro companies from the bioeconomy sector in the framework of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Brazilian Support Service for Micro and Small Enterprises (Sebrae) and Brazilian Industrial Development Agency (ABDI).

The event aims to promote the entrepreneurial ecosystem as well as the bioeconomy in the Amazon region, to internationalize small companies and make them competitive, and to use the regional resources in a more sustainable way.

The objective of the Project is to contribute to the implementation of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

MEET THE STARTUPS:

Amazô Kombucha: A brewery that produces and bottles kombuchas. We produce kombuchas, a fermented beverage based on green tea (Camellia sinensis), which has a low caloric content.

Biozer da Amazônia: Has developed natural products in the field of phytotherapy, functional foods and natural cosmetics from the Amazon, based on scientific studies conducted with active ingredients from the biodiversity of the Amazon.

Carne de Jaca: A company that specializes in the artisanal-industrial production of jackfruit meat, which serves as the basis for various food products.

GIN Luar: Currently the first and only gin produced in the state of Maranhão. The spirit is distilled from the combination of juniper berries (Juniperus communis) and plants from the Maranhão region and follows established production standards worldwide.

Engenho Café de Açaí: The açaí production chain generates tons of organic waste from agribusiness, which causes serious environmental damage due to its accumulation and disposal in inappropriate places. Engenho uses this waste as an alternative for the production of aromatic beverages, reducing the environmental impact and creating a new source of income.

Hidromel Uruçun da Amazônia: A sustainable company that uses honey from stingless bees to produce an alcoholic beverage and strengthens the local bioeconomy and production chain in the region.

Jambu Sinimbu: Has a wide range of products, including jambu cachaça with cumaru, pepper sauce, preserves, vodka and the unusual jambu extract tremidão, which is used in exotic drinks and is known as a powerful topical sexual stimulant.

LioVitta: An Amazonian foodtech company that develops and produces freeze-dried foods and beverages.

Terramazonia Superplants: Develops naturally functional foods based on active ingredients from Amazonian riverside communities, with the aim of bringing the benefits of Amazonian biodiversity into consumers' everyday lives.

Amazon Doors: Brings companies together with communities to develop projects that benefit the families of agro-extractivists and promote sustainable production chains.

Decomplast: A company focused on the development of a biological product that can degrade plastics.

GreeenEnergy Soluções Sustentáveis: A CleanTech company that converts sewage sludge, agricultural waste and extractive biomass from the Amazon into advanced biofuels - bio-oil, coal, gas, green diesel and hydrogen - that replace petroleum derivatives to promote sustainability and decarbonization.

IKIGAI PISCICULTURA SUSTENTÁVEL: A pioneer in the practice of sustainable fish farming in the state of Tocantins, specializing in the farming of tilapia.

Polinorte Sustentáveis: The main activity is to transform waste into concrete products essential for the construction industry, such as blocks, paving stones, piers and beams.

TerraMares: A biotech company that connects producers and companies with microalgae technologies for agribusiness.

Acmella Beauty: Develops phytocosmeceuticals, cosmetics with plant bioactive ingredients that have medicinal benefits.

Ekilibre Amazônia: Handcrafts 28 types of cosmetics and body care products without preservatives and vegan.

Paraoil: A company that specializes in extracting natural oils and butters from Amazon rainforest seeds and supplies its products to cosmetics and food manufacturers.

Directto: Aims to network companies and make food trade more transparent and flexible. To this end, it is developing a platform where producers can exhibit their products and access the tools and services they need for export without red tape.

Treeback Tecnologia Ambiental: The startup aims to reforest degraded areas of the Amazon rainforest by converting marketing commissions for purchases in online stores in Brazil and around the world into planted trees.
