BUSHBABY (UK)
Emerging onto the scene in 2015, Bushbaby, a Brighton-based DJ and producer, has embarked on a remarkable musical journey. His sonic evolution has been a captivating ride, as he seamlessly navigates the realms of bass, garage, and house. Over the years, his sound has matured and morphed, reflecting his innovative approach to music production.
As a pivotal member of the prolific underground Brighton record label Southpoint, Bushbaby has played a significant role in reshaping the sonic landscape. Notably, Bushbaby has emerged as a leading figure in the new speed garage and bassline movement, crafting tracks that redefine genre boundaries. With a magnetic stage presence and an ever-growing discography, he continues to solidify his reputation as a driving force in the electronic music landscape.
One of his standout achievements includes his bootleg of Benga and Coki's 'Night', which was released on the prestigious garage label ec2a, selling out of over 100 units in under five minutes upon going on sale. The release received widespread acclaim and was supported by renowned artists such as Disclosure, Gorgon City, and Four Tet, to name just a few. The overwhelming response to his 'Night' bootleg further solidified Bushbaby's status as a sought-after producer, showcasing his ability to captivate audiences and leave a lasting impact in the world of electronic music.
At the start of 2024, Bushbaby embarked on a hugely successful tour of Australia and New Zealand, captivating audiences with his high-energy performances. He plans to return for another tour in July 2024. His debut show in Canada is set for May 2024, followed by a wider USA and Canada tour at the end of the year. This summer, Bushbaby will be playing at Boomtown Festival, Birmingham Pride 2024, Bassfest, and Boundary Festival, marking a busy and exciting festival season. Additionally, 2024 has been great for international shows, with performances in Budapest, Prague, and Paris.
Bushbaby also released the eagerly anticipated 'We Multiply' alongside Champion and Killa P at the start of 2024. The track was a huge success, garnering acclaim on BBC Radio 1 and Rinse FM, and featured as Sarah Story's Track ID. It was also spun by Sian Anderson and Pete Tong, and graced shows like Jeremiah Asiamah's Soundsystem Party and Arielle Free's Rave-Up. Rinse FM's Kiimi boosted its exposure, while DJs Shosh and DJ Target lauded its quality on KISS and 1Xtra.
In April 2024, Bushbaby did a remix of 33 BELOW's 'LIVE IT UP'. Looking ahead, he has an exciting project scheduled to come out at the end of summer 2024, featuring some high-profile collaborations and remixes, demonstrating his versatility as an artist and his ability to connect with other industry leaders. Fans can also anticipate an S Dog remix in August 2024. With his upcoming tours and festival appearances, Bushbaby is set to further cement his position as a rising star in the electronic music scene.

MINCY
Breakbeat. Jungle. Dubstep. Rave. Speed Garage. Grime. Left Field Bass. Groups of genres rarely become synonymous with a singular DJ, but in Australia, Mincy is a sharp, fierce representative of heavy, fast and bass focused underground dance music, not only as a DJ, but as a label head, producer and promoter. The Extra Spicy founder, Sydney/Eora based artist has an already flooding resumé that has seen her release on an array of local and international esteemed record labels and traded headphones with some of the industry’s biggest titans. Supported by: Tom Ravencroft, Anastasia Kristensen, Object Blue, AK SPORTS, Bianca Oblivion, Tailor Jae, Emerald, Dr Dubplate, Ila Brugal, Dusk + Blackdown, Jyoty, Jossy Mitsu, Breaka + more!
On the production front, her sonic palette is driven into one subsection of dance music, defined by the feeling of unadulterated, rave euphoria. She’ll be kicking off 2023 with a four track EP titled The Mind Boggles on Shall Not Fade’s sister label Time Is Now, followed by another solo EP on rave-certified Bristol based Hardcore Energy. These are following on from a huge release schedule in 2022 which kicked off with the glitchy Sweet Treat EP on Extra Spicy, followed by a two track vinyl release on London label EC2A, as well a pair of collaborative EP’s with AK SPORTS and Killjoy. Cementing her place as one of the best up and comer producers, her remix of AK SPORTS – Flex was voted by DJ MAG as one of the Top 40 Tunes of 2022.
As her discography grows, Mincy’s becoming one of Australia’s most important tastemakers, renowned as the undisputed Queen of bass-driven music locally, a kingdom and empire that is fostered by community empowerment and representation. Her ferocity behind the decks has taken her to some of the biggest stages on offer, including the iconic London nightclub Fabric, Boomtown Festival, Lost Paradise, Output Festival, as well as an eight date European tour mid 2022. On top of that her 2023 is off to a flying start, having recently completed two New Zealand tours, a Japan tour and run of headline shows across Australia including Lost Sundays and Revolver.
A series of graveyard shifts at pirate London radio station Mode FM inspired her passion and skill to turn to community involvement, launching her record label Extra Spicy not long after returning to Australia. The label has since hosted original music from all Australian artists, and had the honour of hosting the first Australian Keep Hush live streamed party. Recently she has broadcasted to thousands on Triple J, FBi and Rinse FM, with her releases being played across these as well as BBC Radio 1.
With plenty of room left to give back to the world of global underground dance music, Mincy’s is well and truly developing a legacy that deserves to be honoured.
