Social Tinkering is teaming up with Wingman of the Year to bring you the Rutland Region's first Speed Friending fundraising event! Support Social Tinkering's mission in Rutland County while making new local connections!
Where do you go to make friends? Making friends as adults can be really challenging!
Speed Friending is a fun and exciting, no pressure opportunity to meet new friends and socialize in a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. In this space you can be yourself, relax, and enjoy great conversation!
The Details:
10am Doors Open: sign in, casual socializing, get comfortable
10:30-10:45 Welcome and overview from Social Tinkering's Director, Jeanette Langston
10:45-12:30 Speed Friending fun with Max from Wingman of the Year!
12:30-1:00 Wrap-up and more casual social time.
The event is open to people age 18 and up, from all walks of life. We greet you at the door, help you get ready for the Speed Friending activities, and help you get comfortable in the room with other attendees. A variety of Brunch-y types of snacks and non-alcohol drinks will be served throughout the event. We know you might be nervous, and that's normal when putting yourself out there to meet people, so we take extra care in how we craft our events to make everyone feel as comfortable as possible. We are all weird and awkward so get ready to be yourself, relax, and enjoy growing your social network!
All proceeds from this event go right back into Social Tinkering, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, helping us to continue our work to grow meaningful connection to reduce and heal social isolation and loneliness. This was designed for speed dating but much of the same information will apply to our speed friending event.
***Please see your ticket confirmation email to set up your simple "friending" profile before the day of the event (paper options available if needed). Make sure to bring your phone/device to use this profile during the event to keep track of all the awesome connections you'll want to follow-up on later.

HOW IT ALL WORKS:
- Purchase your tickets here for a great cause and a fun day out!
- Follow the link sent after your ticket purchase in the confirmation email to set up your "friending" profile prior to the event so you're all ready to go. See that email for more instructions. If you aren't comfortable using tech for the event, we understand! We'll have an alternative paper option available at the event. Just ask us when you arrive.
- Bring your phone/device to use your "friending" profile during the event to help follow-up later on all your awesome connections!
- Get ready to go! Upon arrival you'll be greeted at the door by friendly folks who will help you get comfortable and make sure you're all ready to go.
FOOD & DRINK:
It's Sunday Brunch Time Friend! Tables will be filled with a variety of local brunch-y kinds of treats, coffee, and teas for your enjoyment throughout the event. Please let us know in your ticket purchase if you have any dietary restrictions we could accomodate.
*This is a substance free and recovery friendly event.
LOCATION:
This event is being held at 251 West St in Rutland VT in the large winter farmer's market building. A HUGE THANK YOU to Vermont Farmer's Food Center, who is generously sponsoring this event by donating the use of their beautiful newly renovated Farmer's Hall. Look for our signs!

Wingman of the Year LLC Speed Dating Code of Conduct
CODE OF CONDUCT:
At Wingman of the Year LLC, we are dedicated to creating a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive environment for everyone. By purchasing a ticket and attending our events, you agree to abide by the following Code of Conduct.
1. Our Commitment to Safety and Respect
Safety for All: We strive to ensure that every attendee feels safe and respected throughout the event.
Respectful Conversation: Engage in courteous and considerate dialogue. Deliberately offensive language and explicit or unwanted comments are not tolerated. This includes during the speed dating events onsite and communication with other daters after the events.
Consent and Boundaries: Always respect personal space and boundaries. Unwanted advances or explicit remarks are unacceptable.
2. Expected Behavior
Be kind, respectful, and considerate to all fellow attendees.
Maintain a friendly and supportive atmosphere during interactions.
Adhere to polite conversation, refraining from any language or behavior that could be construed as offensive or demeaning.
3. Prohibited Actions
The following behaviors may result in immediate removal from the event and a ban from future ticket purchases or event attendance:
Harassment of any kind
Aggressive or threatening behavior
Inappropriate physical contact or sexual misconduct
Loud or obnoxious behavior that disrupts the event
Discriminatory comments or actions targeting any individual or group
Disruptive drunkenness or intoxication
Deliberate violation of stated boundaries
Also, if any harassment, aggression, discriminatory, and/or inappropriate conduct occurs with any of the participants you met during one of our events when interacting outside of a Wingman Of The Year LLC event will be subject to future bans.
4. Reporting and Enforcement
Speak Up: If you witness or experience any violation of this Code of Conduct, please alert an event staff member immediately.
Confidentiality and Prompt Action: All reports will be handled confidentially and will be promptly investigated. Your safety and comfort are our top priorities.
5. Agreement
By purchasing a ticket for our Speed Dating event, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in immediate removal from the event and a ban on future participation.
We appreciate your cooperation and commitment to fostering a welcoming and respectful community. Enjoy the event, and thank you for contributing to a positive experience for everyone!
