WHY
Meeting new people isn't always easy -- If you're lucky, work connects you with lots of people, but that’s not true for many gig workers, entrepreneurs, work-from-homers, empty nesters, retirees, and other mid-lifers. This particular event is for women-seeking-men and men-seeking-women.
Speed-DATING overcomes so many common issues when it comes to meeting new people:
- Being stuck on a date with someone you're either not attracted to, or who hijacks the conversation;
- Not approaching a stranger for fear of disturbing them--who's to say they're even single, let alone interested?
- Hesitating to approach others who seem to have formed their own clique;
- Feeling invisible at a large social event;
- Besides, asking for a date can be nerve-wracking wherever you are -- be it online or, say, in line at a store.
The good news is 35-45% of PDX region mid-lifers are single and, after the pandemic years, folks of all ages are looking for less FaceTime and more face-to-face encounters. WHO
Mid-lifers in their 40s–60s in or near the PDX ‘burbs with a level of self-awareness who are emotionally available and ready to get to know and commit to the partner right for them.
