Erie Street Cemetery Tour: Kickoff to Cleveland Buried History Days
Thursday, October 23 | 5:30 – 7:00pm
Join us for a unique journey through Cleveland's past with a tour of Erie Street Cemetery, kicking off Cleveland Buried History Days. Located on East 9th Street and enclosed by a historic 19th-century iron fence and Gothic gateway, Erie Street Cemetery is Cleveland’s oldest cemetery, established in 1826. Originally created to relocate the city’s early burial ground near Public Square, the cemetery is now the final resting place for many of Cleveland’s earliest settlers, war veterans, and notable figures. Along the tour you'll meet Rebecca Carter and John Malvin.
Tickets are just $15 and include hot cider & cookies to enjoy along the tour and Take a Hike drawstring bag + flashlight!
The Erie Street Cemetery Tour meets at the E9th Street entrance. Please arrive 15 minutes early as the tour starts promptly.
