About this Event
Join author Michael Parkin for a fun and creative workshop inspired by his book Wrong Time Rooster! Enjoy the story, then dive into an imaginative crafting session where children can design animals, vehicles, and fantastical creatures using a variety of materials then watch their creations come to life as part of a shared countryside scene.
From a mud-loving pig to a flying jellyfish circling above the barn, the possibilities are endless! This workshop is the perfect chance for young minds to let their creativity soar.
Plus, hear about Michael’s upcoming book Biguana, launching just weeks after the festival.
About the author:
Michael grew up in Farnham, where he spent his childhood asking endless (and often ridiculous) questions. When no answer was satisfying enough, he began inventing his own, spinning absurd explanations and tall tales that would later inspire his storytelling.
Since becoming a father, Michael has turned his wacky ideas into fantastical stories for children. His debut book, Wrong Time Rooster, was published by Flying Eye in February 2025 to critical acclaim and has already been translated into six languages.
