Members of African Link Initiative and others facilitate discussions that spark reflection on belonging, generational wisdom, cultural memory and other topics. Light lunch included.--------
Join us for Sankofa Table, a free pre-Juneteenth gathering designed to bring together students, elders, educators, artists, faith leaders, professionals, families and community members for an afternoon of meaningful conversation, shared reflection, connection and collective visioning.
Rooted in the African principle of Sankofa - “to go back and retrieve what is valuable from the past” - this experience invites participants to explore how our histories, traditions, lived experiences, and sense of identity shape who we become and how we move through the world today.
Through table discussion participants will be invited to reflect on belonging, generational wisdom, cultural memory, leadership, family stories, and the traditions and values we hope future generations never lose.
Come share stories, perspectives, wisdom, questions, laughter, and ideas across generations and backgrounds. Together, participants will help shape a living community dialogue rooted in memory, humanity, and possibility.
All are welcome.
Presented in partnership with African Link Initiative and Not in Our Town Princeton.
