We are excited to share about a special edition gathering of The Literary Mansion Society, a book club by Wildflower & Rose Bookstore. We will be reading The Sangamon by Edgar Lee Masters and members from the Edgar Lee Masters Memorial Museum will be joining us to discuss the book, the history of Masters life, and answer your questions. We will have light snacks and refreshments. We have a limited number of copies available, but they will not be for sale. Please contact us to borrow from the copies we have collected and return to us at the gathering. We will be donating any extra copies we’ve been able to collect to the Edgar Lee Masters Memorial Museum for their collection as it is no longer in print and becoming more difficult to acquire.
The Petersburg Public Library has ordered additional copies of The Sangamon so we will refer you to them when possible. Thank you to Carrie and her team for making sure they are in stock for us!
Since we are not selling books for this gathering, we are asking attendees to consider making an optional donation of $10 to support the cost of the event and to benefit the Edgar Lee Masters Memorial Museum. Once the expense of the event is covered, all profit from this gathering will be donated to the Edgar Lee Masters Memorial Museum.
