SPECIAL DOUBLE FEATURE: Poetry on the Porch, Studio Notes with Julia Lane
This event is a unique opportunity to enjoy a double feature of artistic expression at Pinecone Studio. Join us for an afternooon of Poetry on the Porch (1-3pm) and Studio Notes with Julia Lane (3-5pm).
Poetry on the Porch is a free program that encourages creatives of all kinds to express themselves in verse. You may share original poetry or published pieces to a supportive and warm audience. Weather permitting, we will be on our covered porch with a roaring fire.
The Studio Notes program features sound makers of all types in an intimate concert venue. This program is presented for free on this special occasion.
Julia Lane, singer, songwriter, and folklorist, has been playing the Celtic harp since 1989. Self-taught, she rapidly became a skilled and exciting player, winning the Senior Professional division at the New Hampshire Scottish Games Harp Competition in 1990 and 1991 and the International Folk Harp Competition at Stonehill College in 1992. Julia has done extensive research in folksong archives throughout New England and is currently transcribing songs from the Flanders Collection at Middleburg College, Vermont. This audio archive has over 3000 songs, 900 collected in Maine.
Kick off 2025 with us by enjoying two of our programs for free! Pre-registration is required, as limited tickets are available due to space.
