Developing Confidence & Self-EsteemAbout this Event
Special Course with Gen Kelsang Chodor
We learn about ourselves from various sources over the years: feedback from our parents, teachers, friends, test results, successes and setbacks. From these, we come to develop fixed beliefs about who we are and what capabilities we have. We often view our personality and tendencies as something we can’t change. The more strongly we identify with these self-limiting beliefs, the more they keep us stuck and prevent spiritual growth and inner transformation.
Buddha taught that the self we normally see, perceive and identify with does not, in fact, exist in the way that we believe it does! The self doesn't exist separately from the mind, which means who we are depends entirely upon who we think we are.
In this half-day course, we will look at how we can change our perception of ourselves to develop a more realistic, positive view of who we are and who we can become, seeing beyond our ordinary characteristics and mistaken ways of thinking.
