Join us for a special 2-hour Yoga practice in a dark and calming environment with surreal star patterns projected on the ceiling, ideal for taking time to withdraw attention into the body. This class includes an 80-90 minute Yin yoga practice, with a slow mindful warmup and relaxing postures held for 3-5 minutes each and designed to create sensation and opening in the joints and non-muscular tissues. The Yin postures are then followed by a 20-30 minute Yoga Nidra practice, which is a meditative practice designed to maintain mental awareness while the physical body practices relaxation in stillness. The Yoga Nidra practice is composed of a brief breathing exercise followed by a mental body scan.
No experience is necessary to participate in this practice. There will be an orientation at the very beginning outlining the expectations and purpose of each part of the class.
