About this Event
Ten years ago, the Speaking the Truth in Love Conference was started because we desired to address some of the most important issues facing the church with an approach that manifests complete confidence in God and His Word, and the kind of love (God’s love) that fuels such an approach. We live in a world that distorts love and denies truth. Ephesians 4:15 says, “… speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.” That is our goal. We also desired a conference that emphasized that the local church is the pillar and support of the truth in this world (1 Timothy 3:15). This conference remains a ministry of this local church on purpose, and we pray it is an encouragement for our own people, and for all the local churches represented by brothers and sisters who come from outside our congregation.
The theme for this year's conference is the same one we began with in 2016:
Gender, Marriage, and Sexuality
Our purpose is simply to equip Christians, pastors, church leaders, and local ministries to know how to apply the gospel on issues of biblical sexual ethics and gender, and to explore what the gospel means for the future of marriage and sexual identity.
The Speaking the Truth in Love conference is hosted by Richard Caldwell, Pastor-Teacher of Founders Baptist Church in Houston, TX, and founder of Walking in Grace Ministries. For this year’s conference, we are excited to welcome back Conrad Mbewe, Pastor of Kabwata Baptist Church in Lusaka, Zambia, and Tom Pennington, Pastor-Teacher of Countryside Bible Church. We will also have several returning and new guests, including H.B. Charles Jr., Pastor of Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church, Steven Lawson, President and founder of OnePassion Ministries, Denny Burk, Professor of Biblical Studies at Boyce College and President of the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood, Bruce Ware, Professor of Theology at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Phil Johnson, Executive Director of Grace to You, Rick Holland, Pastor-Teacher of Mission Road Bible Church, and Dave Doran, President of Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary.
We invite you to join us on January 24–26, 2025 to be part of this important event!
