Our first Speaker Series event in 2024 will include speaker, Chet Wallace, as we dive into "The Vagabonds: The Travels of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford." The Vagabonds were a group consisting of Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Harvey Firestone and naturalist John Burroughs. Between 1915 and 1924, the Vagabonds, embarked on a series of summer camping trips. The idea was initiated in 1914 when Ford and Burroughs visited Edison in Florida and toured the Everglades.

Mr. Wallace currently works as the Curatorial Assistant at the Edison Ford Winter Estates in Ft. Myers and has volunteered in the past at the Koreshan State Historical Site in Estero, Florida as a volunteer Curatorial Assistant. Mr. Wallace recently received a master’s degree in American Studies from Kennesaw State University in Georgia.
