An Evening with Jake Lewis: Telling Stories for Our Time
Thursday, January 22nd, 2026 5-7 PM
Doors open at 4 PM to explore Alnoba's grounds and art.
Join journeyman storyteller Jake Lewis for an evening of storytelling in the old way that is forever new. With his improvisational style, Jake will take your imagination on a walkabout, where the Otherworld keeps poking up through the gauze of what we think we know. Come and be transported by two stories that speak to perennial human themes, with a short reflection after each. Appropriate for all ages, though there are some adult themes or violent images in these old stories. Please get in touch with us if you would like to bring young children.
Jake Lewis is an improvisational storyteller, teaching artist, and facilitator. He has guided people on transformative educational experiences for 13 years, working in adventure learning programs, camps, and schools, as well as with adult groups. After studying with Stephen Jenkinson of the Orphan Wisdom School and apprenticing with Dr. Martin Shaw at his School of Myth, Jake started telling stories to inspire rich connection, enlivening insight, and wild imagination. He combines this "dirt time" with a deep study of the human psyche, a playful spirit, and a reverence for participation.
