On Thursday, November 13 at 6pm, there will be a special guest for the next Speaker Series at the Heritage Center in Crabill Discovery Hall. Retired Director of Collections, Virginia Weygandt will look "Beyond Domesticity" to talk about how women got involved in their community outside their homes. In the 19th century, the “Cult of True Womanhood” urged women to center their lives on home and family. Yet many turned these limits into opportunities for leadership and community influence. Weygandt will exploring how women locally and across the country reshaped restrictive ideals into powerful social change.
