Speak Her Name

Whilst our sculpture Standing In This Place gives representation to the under-represented, giving voice and recognition to the contributions of thousands of unnamed women connected through cotton, we wanted to showcase historic named women within Speak Her Name.

Join artists Rachel Carter, Anisha Parmar & Ismail Khokon in conversation discussing the Heritage Lottery funded project that led to the creation of the community-led installation and publication. A wonderful project for both the artists and participants alike, come and hear how we have delved into the lives of 100 historic women and represented them within and art installation featuring over 300 embroidery hoops.
