About this Event
Whether you are already working in the gaming industry or interested in getting started, all are welcome! We are eager to build a community in Durham that fully encompasses all intersections of the industry (game devs, programmers, artists, writers, musicians, and much more!).
Join us at 6pm for a FREE intro to Blender tutorial lead by Gavin Ball ~or~ meet-up with us afterwards at 7pm for connection and community as we head over to a local pub in downtown Whitby.

- 6:00 - 7:00pm FREE Blender Tutorial: Build Your First Asset instructed by Gavin Ball (see bio below). Note: Bring your own computer w/ Blender 5 already downloaded.
- 7:00 - 8:30pm Pub Hangout. Note: Meet us at the Studio (Pub TBC). Everyone will pay for their own drinks and food

Blender Tutorial Instructor Bio: Gavin Ball is a digital media artist specializing in art direction, concept art, and illustration for games and animation. He has been working as an in-studio artist and freelancer for 15 years. He has also taught at several post secondary animation and game programs in Ontario and is currently an associate teaching professor at Ontario Tech University in their Game Development and Interactive Media program.
As a freelancer, Gavin has worked on projects such as Fortnite, Apex Legends, and ABC’s Blackish (animated special) as well as several unannounced projects for Microsoft, EA and Blizzard.
Gavin is also a graduate of the Master of Digital Media program at Toronto Metropolitan University and is currently developing a game called Gladiotron through his production studio Full Circle CS.
Currently Gavin is delving into the world of interactive media, through the creation of interactive art, games and interactive stories.
