The Tees Valley International Film Festival proudly presents a showcase of films made by 7 to 15-year-old attendees of the Teesside branch of Sparks Film School. The screening will be followed by an interview and Q&A with Teresa Taylor, the workshop leader, who will tell us more about Sparks Film School as well as the young filmmakers who will no doubt be our TVIFF winners of the future. The following short films will be screened:1. Reset
A Sci-Fi written, directed, filmed, crewed, produced, and performed by our studio 4 children (ages 11- 15 years) at Sparks Yarm-based studio term time weekly workshop held on Saturdays at Egglescliffe School & Sixth Form. Reset explores the future relationship between AI and humankind.
2. Experiment W
Filmed at Preston Park Museum and Grounds, a fun Halloween special film with a werewolf theme created by a mixed age group of ages 7 – 15 years at Sparks Film School Teesside Half term Halloween filmmaking club in 2023. The film includes a werewolf transformation where the children look at shadows to create the effect. The corrupt Mayor of the town has a plan to control the townsfolk with assistance from werewolves and other creatures of the dark. What can be done to save the town?
3. Grab & Go
A wonderful Crime Drama written, directed, filmed, crewed, and performed by filmmakers aged 11- 15 years based in Yarm. A jewel thief is big business!
