SPARK is a local meetup initiative with monthly events covering educational topics for freelancers across the nation brought to you by Freelancers Union. The PDX chapter of SPARK is hosted by .
During last month's SPARK meeting with Carolyn Lai Moore of Wildlight, there was such an outpouring of support around the prices people were charging for their services that we wanted to dive deeper into that.
We'll spend a little time at the beginning going over different ways to set your pricing, including two that are quite new for freelancers, talk about the pitfalls to avoid that will have you leaving money on the table or not charging your worth, and then we'll get into the actual numbers with our attendees.
During the event, we will:
- Discuss 4 different ways to set your pricing
- Cover the common pitfalls that will slash your profits
- Share our offerings and the prices we charge
- Allow attendees to share their insights, advice, and support
- Check out AI and salary databases for more insight
- Celebrate and support one another
After we've shared our prices and gotten feedback, we'll do a little check to see how everyone is feeling and who is going to change their prices as soon as they get home.
This event will be a safe space to share numbers, if you choose to do so. All feedback will be given in a supportive manner and price shaming will not be tolerated.
