About this Event
Japanese women's pro wrestling (or joshi puroresu) has delivered the best of pro wrestling since the mid 20th century.
In the 1970s, joshi wrestling brought us stars who were not only undeniably tough and impressive heroes in the ring but also chart-topping idols in Japanese pop music.
By the 1990s, American fans came to know the joshi wrestling as the innovators of many of the coolest new moves used by wrestlers of all genders in the US and around the world.
Anime and Japanese video games had been part of American pop culture for decades. SPARK Joshi was the first American promotion dedicated to importing the culture, creative style, and high standard of pro wrestling that joshi puroresu is known for.
We were founded with the goal of lighting the SPARK to make joshi puroresu the international cultural phenomenon it deserves to be.
