PINK MIST PRESENTS:Spanish Love Songs
+ Special Guests
January 27th 2024 @ Electric Ballroom
Ok, get pumped: Spanish Love Songs will play their biggest London headline show at the Electric Ballroom this January. Acclaimed for wrapping incisive lyricism around fists-in-air indie-punk anthems, the LA-based quintet is bringing their latest album, "No Joy," to the capitol and it is going to be WILD.
Since forming in LA in 2013, Spanish Love Songs’ cult following has quietly snowballed, thanks to a series of critically acclaimed albums steeped in unflinching lyricism and thematic depth. Frontman Dylan Slocum's songwriting deftly balances between existential dread and cultural critique, a tightrope act that has resonated deeply with fans across the world. The band's latest album, "No Joy," released through Pure Noise Records, expands their emotional palette beyond the familiar ramen-stained sweater of melancholy, offering what Slocum calls their "most joyous collection of material" yet.
While fans might have expected more of the band's signature angst, especially in the wake of a pandemic, "No Joy" pivots toward a new maturity and introspection. Produced by Collin Pastore and mixed by Carlos de la Garza, the album finds Spanish Love Songs grappling with a complex modern age—its challenges, its heartaches, but also its small moments of peace. According to Slocum, the album is about "finding happiness in your current moment," a message as vital as it is timely.
Their last London show sold out in three - yes three seconds - and we spent a whole day consoling people on Twitter. We hate to see you sad, so remember to set a reminder on Dice and be ready to go at 9:55am before the on-sale time. There are no pre-sales, our links are bot-proof, and we certainly don’t want to keep all the tickets for ourselves, so it’s all on you. Good luck, pals.
