In September of 1566, between quelling mutinies and rebuffing the hostilities of native Floridians, Pedro Menendez de Aviles and his men paddled up the St. Johns River armed with crossbows to try and find its origin point. Join us for a living history encampment to commemorate the expedition, one of the earliest attempts by Europeans to penetrate into this area of Florida.Phone and email registration for the Friday, September 26th School Day opens August 1st!
