The SUNY Plattsburgh Department of Theatre will present the musical, Monty Python’s Spamalot, on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m., Friday Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. All performances will be in the Hartman Theatre, Myers Fine Arts Building.Monty Python’s Spamalot is lovingly ripped off from the motion picture “Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” with books and lyrics by Eric Idle, and Music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle. This production has musical direction by Pamela Lavin, choreography by Mireena Fleury, and stage direction by Shawna Mefferd Kelty.
The Tony Award winner for Best Musical as an outrageous, uproarious, and gloriously entertaining retelling of King Arthur and the Lady of the Lake will delight audiences as they search for the Holy Grail and “always look on the bright side of life.” Ben Brantley called the show “resplendently silly” and a “fitful, eager celebration of inanity” (New York Times).
Tickets for Monty Python’s Spamalot are $15 for general admission, $12 for faculty, staff, and seniors, and $6 for SA members. There is no physical box office for this event. Tickets currently are available at https://campusgroups.plattsburgh.edu/themus/events/.
