How frequently do planetary systems comparable to our own solar system form, and how do these systems develop over time? The past two decades of exoplanetary research has now revealed thousands of worlds around nearby stars, and hundreds of dusty, scaled-up versions of our asteroid belt. However, the vast majority of these planets and dust belts have properties quite unlike those in the solar system.
Join Dr. Joshua Lovell for this Space Talk as we explore how solar systems like ours form, using the latest results from state of the art observatories like the James Webb Space Telescope and the Atacama Large Millimeter Array.
Stop by this FREE Space Talk, participate in a Q&A with Dr. Lovell, sip on a cosmic cocktail, and even do some stargazing on our telescope deck during your visit.
Space Talk is included with your admission to LSC After Dark (21+) on February 26.
