Stand-by for action, as we welcome a host of costumed characters from the worlds of film and TV sci-fi, including Star Wars, Captain Scarlet and Thunderbirds.
Look out for these well-known characters on the streets of Lichfield, and in and around The Hub. But beware – you may come face to face with an alien baddy or an Imperial Stormtrooper…!
And whether you’re a child, or an adult who doesn’t want to grow up, why not join in the fun by getting dressed up yourself? It doesn’t matter who or what you come as, just let your imagination run wild! Your best fancy-dress, or you favourite film or TV character – anything goes! And don’t forget to beam into The Hub in your costume to win a prize!
At the centre of this fun-packed event is the awe-inspiring exhibition, 54321 FAB! The Art of Supermarionation – an amazing display of original puppets, models, art and memorabilia from the much loved 1960s TV shows of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson, including Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Joe 90 and Stingray.
This unique and exclusive exhibition gives visitors a once in a lifetime
opportunity to see original props from the famous shows, with screen-used
puppets including Captain Scarlet and Joe 90 on display, as well as painstakingly- created replicas of Thunderbirds puppets that have been built from original moulds and materials.
So, prepare for a fun family day that’s “out of this world”, as we welcome the galaxy’s favourite heroes and villains to the centre of Lichfield!
