The club is excited to announce that we will be starting a six week disc dog event called the Space City Challenge. This event will be hosted on select Thursday evenings in June and July, starting at 6 pm at Swanny's Grill, 6224 Theall Road, Houston, TX.What makes the Space City Challenge so exciting is that each week will consist of two UpDog games each week followed by a sport dog discussion panel on a wide range of topics including sport dog communication and advocacy, chiropractic care and gait assessment, nutritional support, to name a few. Week 6 will be Spaced Out and 4 Way Play. For more information on the games, please go to www.updogchallenge.com.
We will have walk up registrations and each handler/canine entry will cost $5. This week's discussion panel will be about hydration / energy management / mental health.
The Space City Challenge will be a cumulative series of points with overall champions crowned at the end. There will be two divisions - an upper or pro division and a lower or newer competitor division. After each week, we will post the rankings so teams can follow along and strategize for placements at the end of the challenge. We are looking forward to blasting off on this new disc dog adventure with y'all!
