Latte Art MATE MATCH I Rule
16 competitors / 2 person per team / total of 8 teams
Time and Date: Thursday, 18th of July, 6:30pm – 9:00pm / Free pizza, soft drinks and Doh Doughnuts!
Teams are paired through blind draw one week (Thursday 11th of July 5:00pm) before the competition via live stream on Kafei Studio Instagram. Please enter the competition on your own and we will MATCH your MATE.
The competition is score based. The top 4 teams get through first round, then 2 teams into the semi-final, then 1 team into final. Two team members from the top team go head-to-head with each other at the FINAL!
Each round, both team members will be asked to pour one specific latte art pattern. One pattern from the beginning latte art dice (consist of heart, three stack tulip, five stack tulip, slowsetta, rosetta and swan), the other from the three selected free pour patterns (consist of bear face, flying unicorn and monkey face). Each team member can decide who is going to pour which pattern. Each team will have 3 MINS to place the two latte arts on judge’s table. For the FINAL, each finalist will pour two latte arts from each category. The highest score finalist will be the WINNER of the night!
Scores (out of 10) will be given to each teammate from three judges, the combined score from each round is the team score for that round. Maximum of 60 points per team per round. Scores from previous round will be carried over to the next round. Combined team milk wastage each round exceed 70g will face point deduction of 5 points per team per round.
You will be pouring into 200ml Loveramics Cappuccino cup. Dairy milk will be used for all pours. Coffee on the night is washed Colombia roasted more than two weeks ago.

The aim of this competition is for barista to step out of their comfort zone to try new latte art pouring techniques, learn new patterns, improving themselves through competition preparation and to bring barista from different café together to work with each other and share the same passion for coffee and latte art.
