Soprano Susanna Phillips, violist Paul Neubauer, and pianist Anne-Marie McDermott, all highly acclaimed solo performers, come together as SPA. Showcasing their respective talents, the trio presents a refined sense of ensemble and unity of artistic vision. Susanna Phillips, in demand by the world's most prestigious orchestras, is dedicated to oratorio works and is an avid chamber music collaborator. As soloists with orchestras worldwide, Paul Neubauer displays the exceptional musicality and effortless playing that led The New York Times to call him "a master musician." Anne-Marie Dermott balances a versatile career as a soloist and collaborator with a repertoire that ranges from Bach and Haydn to Prokofiev and Scriabin.
PROGRAM
This intimate and unusual program explores parlor music of the 19th century (and beyond) from the British Isles, Russia, and Italy alongside beloved art songs by Gounod and Schumann.
