Agroforestry / Regenerative / Adaption
About this Event

The first workshop will encompass a discussion on how and why we utilise agroforestry, as well as its role in regenerative agriculture, climate change mitigation, and adaptation. We will be actively involved in weeding, mulching, and replacing tree guards. Please dress for windy north Edinburgh! Sturdy footwear is helpful for comfort and safety - but you don’t need specialist equipment or gear.

Transport: To get there we recommend getting the Lothian Buses 16, 27, 29, 37 & 47 all stop within five minutes of the farm and there is a large bike rack in the farmyard, there is no public car park so please try to use public transport. - Please do try to arrive on time as it might be hard to find us once we've got started.

Facilities and Accessibility Notes
There is a private, gender-neutral, spacious and level access composting toilet in the Community Allotments for volunteers to use. We don’t have a cafe on site. We do offer volunteers teas and coffees, but you might want to bring a snack to keep you going. The ground is quite rough and can be muddy, and this session involves some walking across the farm fields to get to the trees. We encourage you to go at your own pace, take breaks and opt for tasks you find enjoyable - we want it to be a fun experience!
