The Southwest Council Chili & Dessert Cook-off will be held Thursday, November 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Southern Social Whiskey Bar &Lounge. A $10 admission includes -10 votes for your favorite chili and/or dessert. Winners will be decided by popular vote.
There is no entry fee to bring a chili or dessert, but those bringing food must register in advance. To register for a chili or dessert send an email to Evonne Moody at [email protected]. Please include the name of your chili or dessert.
Check-in is at 5 p.m. for all food participants. Feel free to bring extras to enhance your chili such as cheese, sour cream, hot sauce, etc. You may also bring crackers, cheese, jalapeños, etc. to serve along with your chili. All prep/cooking/baking must be done offsite. Electricity is available for crock pots, but entrants should provide their own extension cord should it be needed. Contestants are required to serve their own chili or dessert as there will be no self-service by attendees.
All money from this event will be donated to the Clay County Safe Animal Shelter in Middleburg. We are also collecting donations for the Shelter, encouraged items are: Clean fleece blankets, Clean towels, Unopened dog and cat treats, Pupperoni, Peanut butter, Easy Cheese, New dog and cat toys, Kongs, New tennis and ping pong balls, Cat beds and crates, Dog beds and crates, Pet carriers, Canned cat food (pate preferred), and Canned dog food (pate and chunk).
All SWC Annual sponsors are asked to bring a $25 minimum door prize.
