About this Event
We would like to invite you to our end of year get-together on Wednesday 3rd December at Walworth Living Room, All Saints Church Hall, Surrey Square, London SE17 2JU, to celebrate a year of campaigning and the opening of the festive season.
The focus of the meeting will be on fossil pollution and resisting the fossil fuel industry. With the re-submitted application for Rosebank - the biggest undeveloped oil field in the UK, 'which alone would produce more than the combined emissions of the 28 lowest income countries in the world or 56 coal fired power stations running for a year' (Caroline Lucas), this is a very current issue.
Fossil Free London have kindly agreed to join us to speak on the topic and lead discussion on the day. We will also consider what Fossil Free achieved in Southwark and where our Council still needs to improve.
Our meeting is fresh straight after COP30. Our Eloise is attending, and we are looking forward to hearing about her experiences. Another Southwark climate campaigner & organiser Malini Mehra (https://malinimehra.com/about/) is also currently in Brazil and will tell us about the conference and her climate work.
As always we will have time for networking and sharing our individual campaigns. You are welcome to bring along some (festive) snacks for sharing, we'll provide teas and cold drinks.
