Southport SHS Creative Arts Excellence Experience Day - Year 7 2026

Places in the Creative Arts Excellence Program at Southport State High School are highly regarded and in high demand. Throughout this experience day, students will participate in two workshops within the Creative Arts.

When selecting your ticket type (eg.Dance /Drama/Musical Theatre/Visual Art/Music) this will be for your students first workshop in the morning. You will then be asked for your students second subject preference for the second workshop in the afternoon. You must choose a diferent creative arts subject for the second session. We will do our best to accomodate your students preference for the afternoon workshop.

By signing your student/s up, you are giving them permission to attend the SSHS Excellence Experience Day. Once you have signed your child up an email will be sent out with all the details of the day.

Please take note of the map below and familiarize yourself with SSHS Music block as this is where parent sign in and out will occur.

An outline of the day is provided below:

Parent sign in 8.30am

Student welcome and introduction 9am

Workshop 1 - 9.30am - 11.15am (15 minute morning tea included)

Lunch 11.15am - 11.45am

Regrouping and reminders 11.45am - 12.15pm

Workshop 2 - 12.15pm - 1.45pm

Parent sign out 2.15pm
