Please bring the family and come join us after the September 11th memorial in Town Square to welcome our newest member of the fleet into service.
At around 8:30am, come by 600 State Street (the Carroll side) and grab some refreshments, meet firefighters, and "push in" the new fire apparatus into the fire bay to announce it going into service to serve the City of Southlake.
The new Truck 401 is a Pierce Heavy Duty Aerial Platform. It has a unique customized body layout and compartmentation to house specialized tools and technical rescue equipment. The truck carries 300 gallons of water, hundreds of feet of fire attack hoses, a pump rated at 2000 gallons per minute, and numerous ladders in addition to the steel aerial. The truck stands 12 feet 6 inches tall when the aerial is stowed and 100 feet tall at maximum elevation. It is powered by a 525 horsepower diesel engine and rated to weigh up to 84,000 pounds. Despite it’s 49 foot length end-to-end it fits comfortably in its new home of Southlake Fire House 1.
