Southern Utah Sewing and Textiles Conference

Join us for two unforgettable days at the Southern Utah Sewing and Textiles Conference, where fabric lovers, educators, 4-H leaders, and sewing enthusiasts come together to learn, create, and connect. This hands-on conference is designed to spark creativity and build confidence through engaging, skill-building projects for all levels.

The schedule includes a wide variety of workshops, including:

• Dress up your basics with a reverse appliqué sweatshirt makeover.
• Craft a charming fabric snake plant that’s always in bloom.
• Make a versatile 4-zippered picnic bag that opens into a convenient circle.
• Sew a project bag with a clear vinyl window—perfect for organizing supplies.
• Use your talents for good by sewing adult clothing protectors for a local service project.
• Create a stunning triaxial weave pillow top that looks like fabric magic.
• Try your hand at a quilt block project with tips and tricks to elevate your quilting.
• Transform scraps into thoughtful fabric scrap cards and gift bags.

Whether you're a Family and Consumer Sciences educator looking for classroom-ready projects, a 4-H leader seeking fresh ideas, or simply someone who loves to sew, this conference has something for everyone.

Note: Teachers will receive re-licensure points for attending the conference.

Cost: $135 - includes materials for all of the projects, lunch each day, a swag bag, and hours of fun and friendship!

Tuesday, September 23, 8:00am - 5:00pm, doors open at 7:30am (Lunch is included.) There will be an optional open sewing time from 5:00pm-6:00pm.

Wednesday, September 24, 8:00am - 5:00pm (Lunch is included.)

Location: Washington County Fairgrounds, Hurricane, UT

Each participant must bring:

• A sewing machine and basic sewing supplies (scissors, thread, seam gauge, seam ripper, etc.). Suggested thread colors - black, white, neutral colors, green for the snake plant
• We will have several irons and ironing boards available, but if you have an iron and portable ironing board you can bring, we ask that you bring it to help prevent bottlenecks at the ironing stations.
• A zipper foot will come in handy for a couple of the projects.
