About this Event
Please join us for our in-town, indoor lecture series!
Join CREW Trust and the South Florida Water Management District to learn about the history, purpose and outcomes of the Southern Critical CREW restoration that took place in CREW Flint Pen Strand from 2016-2018, as well as ongoing efforts to protect that investment using appropriate land management techniques.
If you ever wondered about the origins of CREW Flint Pen Strand Trails or why all that land to the north of Bonita Beach Road remains undeveloped and available for hiking, biking, horseback riding and other forms of compatible public use, then you won’t want to miss this lecture!
You’ll hear about how and why the CREW Flint Pen Strand lands were acquired and learn the rationale for why Florida invested nearly $37 million dollars to restore the hydrology and natural communities of these lands to better protect communities in Bonita Springs and North Naples. You’ll also gain insights into what the SFWMD and CREW Trust do nowadays to protect that investment so we can all continue to benefit from these lands for generations to come.
Light refreshments start at 6:30 pm, Lecture will be 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
