On September 28, the Kirk Newman Art School (KNAS) will host the South Street Print Fest. Using a large asphalt roller as a printing press, vibrant large-scale prints will be produced from relief carvings. Participants will have the opportunity to make prints that are 3' wide and up to 6' long from plywood blocks carved in advance. This event celebrates the art of printmaking and welcomes the community to witness how a large steamroller can be used as a printing press to produce vibrant, large-scale prints from relief carvings.
Community printmakers who would like to participate should plan to bring their own carved blocks (must be 3 feet wide and between 2-6 feet long). A small fee of $25 for community printmakers reserves your timeslot and includes the cost of printing inks, fabric, and faculty and staff support to produce your piece.
Timeslots can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
