Let’s ride a bike!We're back for the SECOND South Inglewood Bicycle Festival, bringing together a wide variety of bicycling enthusiasts – from supporters to mechanics, from beginners to experienced cyclists, from commuters to mountain bikers to cargo haulers and more.
This festival is FREE & open to the public!
Rebecca Street will be a SLOW STREET! It will be CLOSED to anything other than residential traffic. You can access the community center parking lot via Moore. You can park on Branch, Moore, Shinkle, or Ann Streets.
Bike Fun is grateful to have received a grant from the Inglewood Neighborhood Association in support of this event.
What’s going on during the festival?
In addition to the tables and activities from festival participants, Bike Fun will have 4 stations for attendees:
- a basic bicycle maintenance station
- a station for traffic laws and safety guidelines
- a helmet fitting station
- a station with crafts to make your bike or bike helmet more fun and visible
We have some great giveaways at the Bicycle Festival including helmets, kids bikes, t-shirts, and more.
1:00pm - Festival opens
1:30pm - Storytime ride with Ms Allgood of Inglewood Elementary (meet at Inglewood Elementary booth)
2:00pm - Slow Bicycle Race with Friends of Shelby (meet at Friends of Shelby booth)
2:30pm - How to Mom on a Bike (with Brenda & Meg)
3:00pm - Storytime ride with Ms Allgood of Inglewood Elementary (meet at Inglewood Elementary booth)
Ongoing - bicycle giveaways, helmet giveaways, helmet fitting, rider/bicycle visibility, slow street on Rebecca St
4:00pm - Festival closes
The bicycle festival also celebrates 30 Days of Biking, where you pledge to ride your bike every day in April. More info at https://30daysofbiking.com/.
